If you were one of the many people left without plans last night as the result of UFC 151 being cancelled you may have more in common with UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones than you know. The 25-year old, whose refusal to face Chael Sonnen on short notice influenced the UFC’s decision to axe the event, was also left twiddling his thumbs this weekend as a result of the situation
“Bones” even went so far to express his disappointment about having nothing to do in response to an angry fan on Twitter.
“Thanks to (Jon Jones) I have no plans tonight,” wrote an upset individual on the social networking site, only to receive a response from the title-holder himself who posted, “Thanks to the old man and his knee I don’t either.”

The division’s top contender, Dan Henderson tore his MCL while training for his title-fight against Jones and was forced to withdraw. Jones later clarified his comment, saying the “old man” remark was a rib on Henderson having called him “kid” a handful of times leading up to their match-up.
