Remember how on that long ago, far away day of yesterday we heard UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones would face Lyoto Machida at UFC 152 instead of Dan Henderson at UFC 151? Hope you didn't start etching that fight card into stone, because MMA Junkie is reporting Jones will now face Vitor Belfort at UFC 152.
So in the past 24 hours:
1. Henderson had to pull out of the title bout with Jones. Though Jones was offered Chael Sonnen and Chris Weidman as late replacements, he turned them down and UFC 151 was canceled.
2. Instead, a rematch between Machida and Jones was scheduled. Their last bout was in December in Toronto, and Jones won by guillotine.
3. Machida turned down the fight. Considering his last fight was on Aug. 4, you could see why he wouldn't want to take on a five-round, championship fight on less than a month's notice.
4. Vitor Belfort, who was scheduled to fight Alan Belcher at UFC 153, will now move up to light heavyweight and fight Jones for the title at 152.
Got all that? Just be happy you're not responsible for continually redesigning the UFC's event posters.
