WWE RAW Review: Tensai Eats Tyson Kidd, Michael Cole Finally Answers Calls of Millions to Return to Wrestling

Poor Tyson Kidd can’t catch a break–not only do he and Christian lose right at the outset of his biggest singles push to date, but he gets his ass kicked afterward, and the whole thing is over less than three minutes. With distractions from Vickie Guerrero and Sakamoto, Dolph Ziggler and Tensai pick up an easy win.

Oh, and Guerrero made googly eyes in Tensai’s direction afterward. Talk about hinting at a mental image I never want to enter my mind!

WWE had some serious pacing issues all night: very short matches and lingering camera shots left the announcers the job of having to fill one awkward silence after another all night. Not good. They want to save the good stuff for pay-per-view, I get it, but this was less filling than a grocery store sample.

On a positive note, Tensai’s powerbomb on Kidd onto the ring apron looked brutal, and it may have gotten him as much crowd heat as he’s had since his return to WWE. It’s going to take more of that to get smartasses to stop chanting “Albert” during his matches.

Following the match, Jerry Lawler got much too angry at Michael Cole for spilling water on the ridiculous Affliction shirt he’s too damn old to be wearing anyway. The Anonymous GM chimed in to announce a match between them pending results of a WWE.com poll, and I reach for the bourbon.

Check back later this afternoon for my final look at last night’s episode of RAW.
