The UFC on FOX 5 lineup received another solid scrap overnight in the form of a bout between welterweights Mike Swick and Matt Brown. Both men are known for their exciting approach to competition in the cage and are more likely to score a stoppage than rely on the judges’ scorecards for success.
UFC officials confirmed the bout, while Swick has said a verbal agreement is in place but paperwork still needs to be handled. The December 8 show is headlined by a title-fight between lightweight champion Benson Henderson and top contender Nate Diaz.
The 15-4 Swick’s return to the ring comes a little more than four months after his successful showing against DaMarques Johnson at UFC on FOX 4. Prior to the win Swick had spent more than two years twiddling his thumbs while dealing with a slew of health-related issues.

Meanwhile, Brown has looked better than ever during his recent three-fight winning streak. He holds an overall record of 15-11 including past victories over the likes of John Howard, Pete Sell, and most recently Luis Ramos. Thirteen of his triumphs have involved some form of finish.
