Blue Corner: Lorenz Larkin (12-0-0-1, 3-0-0-1 Strikeforce) vs. Red Corner: Robbie Lawler (19-8-0-1, 3-4 Strikeforce)
Fight is explosive from the getgo. Lawler and Larkin are throwing punches nonstop. Lawler presses Larkin up against the cage, and after a moment’s standstill, Larkin shrugs him down and presses from the top. Larkin opens up on Lawler, throwing a bevy of strikes, before Lawler fires back with kicks and punches of his own. The round ends up against the cage, where Larkin and Lawler exchange to the finish, with Larkin sneaking in a couple knees. Crowd applauds both fighters as they head to their corners.
Second round opens less quickly than the first, with both fighters circling each other. Larkin throws a couple of huge strikes on Lawler, and then he is pressed into the cage. A big exchange on the ground with reversals gets the approval of the crowd, and Lawler takes Larkin into the cage again. Larkin reverses, but only for a moment as they’re taken back to the center. Round ends at a stalemate.
The third round opens much like the first two – Both fighters are exchanging before Lawler presses Larkin into the cage padding. The once jovial fans start booing before Lawler opens up again on Larkin. Larkin fires back, and both fighters head to the center, where Lawler tries his luck at a head kick. The last couple minutes of the round are spent with both fighters exchanging to an exciting end of the third round. For the fifth fight in a row, we’re going to the judges scorecards.
Winner: Lorenz Larkin def. Robbie Lawler via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
