If the professional rivalry between UFC lightweights Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar results in a trilogy rather than ending with tonight’s rematch it appears the two won’t be tangling again this year regardless of how close the result is. Edgar-Henderson are set to face off in the main event at UFC 150 with the winner walking away with the divisional title.
According to UFC President Dana White, Nate Diaz is still in line to fight for the belt as was initially announced after Diaz beat Jim Miller in May. White’s confirmation came on Friday as part of the UFC’s coverage of the UFC 150 weigh-ins.
Diaz holds an overall record of 16-7 with fourteen finishes to his credit. He has emerged from the Octagon with his hand raised against a number of notable foes including the likes of Josh Neer, Melvin Guillard, Takanori Gomi, and Donald Cerrone.
