UFC president Dana White held a special conference call at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 23rd to announce that UFC 151 had been cancelled. Dan Henderson suffered a partially torn MCL and is unable to compete in the main event title fight against light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
It appeared that Chael Sonnen would fill the void left by Henderson but Jones refused to accept the fight. White was obviously frustrated by the champions refusal to face Sonnen who would be taking the fight on only eight days notice.
