ONE FC is closing in on their fifth event coming up at the end of August and they have finally announced the full card. It was originally stated that Shinya Aoki (30-6) would not be fighting in the main event as scheduled, instead competing on an October card, but ONE FC President Victor Cui has since revealed he will actually be fighting on both shows.
In addition to Aoki seeing action, ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation will also feature a bantamweight scrap between former DREAM featherweight/bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes (11-3) and Gustavo Falciroli (12-3) in the headlining slot. Fernandes is riding a three-fight winning streak, though his last victory came at the end of 2011 when he defeated Antonio Banuelos. Falciroli last fought in February for ONE FC where he picked a win over Soo Chul Kim by Rear-Naked Choke early in the first round.
The promotion also confirmed former UFC heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia (31-7) and Andrei Arlovski (17-9) will square off for a fourth time. Sylvia dropped the first fight in the trilogy but went on to win the next two. Other notable fighters on the August 31 card include former lightweight champion Jens Pulver (26-16-1), Phil Baroni (14-15), and three fighters from the first family of Brazilian jiu-jitsu – Rolles Gracie (6-1), Igor Gracie (5-2) and Gregor Gracie (6-2).
The prelims for ONE FC: Pride of a Nation will air for free on the company’s website with the main card being available via stream for $9.99 as well.
